03:26 PM EST, 11/11/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Energy stocks gained late Tuesday afternoon with the NYSE Energy Sector Index and the Energy Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLE) each climbing 1.5%.
The Philadelphia Oil Service Sector Index advanced 1.7%, and the Dow Jones US Utilities Index edged up 0.2%.
West Texas Intermediate crude oil rose 1.5% to $61.02 a barrel, and global benchmark Brent gained 1.7% to $65.12 a barrel. Henry Hub natural gas futures popped 5% to $4.55 per 1 million BTU.
In corporate news, Braskem ( BAK ) shares jumped 20% after the company signed an agreement with the state of Alagoas to pay 1.2 billion reais ($227.5 million) for damages caused by a geological event that occurred in the northeastern Brazilian state.
