03:42 PM EST, 11/14/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Energy stocks rose late Friday afternoon with the NYSE Energy Sector Index up 1.4% and the Energy Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLE) adding 1.8%.
The Philadelphia Oil Service Sector Index climbed 1.9%, and the Dow Jones US Utilities Index increased 0.3%.
West Texas Intermediate crude oil rose 2.1% to $59.93 a barrel, and global benchmark Brent advanced 2% to $64.27 a barrel. Henry Hub natural gas futures fell 2.7% to $4.52 per 1 million BTU.
In sector news, US natural gas stocks rose by 45 billion cubic feet in the week ended Nov. 7, above the increase of 34 billion expected in a survey compiled by Bloomberg.
In corporate news, Exxon Mobil ( XOM ) shares were rising 1.3% after Argus lifted the company's price target to $137 from $127.
