03:37 PM EST, 11/25/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Energy stocks declined late Tuesday afternoon with the NYSE Energy Sector Index easing 0.2% and the Energy Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLE) shedding 0.5%.
The Philadelphia Oil Service Sector Index rose 0.9%, and the Dow Jones US Utilities Index fell 0.5%.
West Texas Intermediate crude oil declined 1.5% to $57.97 a barrel, and global benchmark Brent dropped 1.4% to $62.53 a barrel. Henry Hub natural gas futures fell 2.8% to $4.42 per 1 million BTU.
In corporate news, Equinor ( EQNR ) plans to drill 250 oil and gas exploration wells in Norwegian waters over the next decade as part of an effort to keep its production in 2035 at levels last seen in 2020, Reuters reported, citing Chief Executive Anders Opedal. Equinor ( EQNR ) shares were down 0.6%.
