09:08 AM EDT, 10/01/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Energy stocks were leaning lower premarket Wednesday, with the Energy Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLE) down 0.3%.
The United States Oil Fund (USO) was 1.3% lower and the United States Natural Gas Fund (UNG) was up nearly 1%.
Front-month US West Texas Intermediate crude oil was 0.9% lower at $61.80 per barrel at the New York Mercantile Exchange. Global benchmark North Sea Brent crude oil lost 0.9% to $65.46 per barrel. Natural gas futures were up 2.1% at $3.372 per 1 million British Thermal Units.
Tenaris ( TS ) shares were up more than 2% after the company said it has completed the first $600 million tranche of its $1.2 billion share buyback, launched in June.
