01:38 PM EST, 01/27/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Energy stocks were higher Tuesday afternoon, with the NYSE Energy Sector Index rising 1.2% and the State Street Energy Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLE) adding 0.6%.
The Philadelphia Oil Service Sector Index was climbing 1.3%, and the Dow Jones US Utilities Index advanced 1.1%.
Front-month West Texas Intermediate crude oil was rising 2.4% to $62.10 a barrel, and the global benchmark Brent crude contract was increasing 2.5% to $67.26 a barrel. Henry Hub natural gas futures fell 1.2% to $3.85 per 1 million BTU.
In corporate news, Enlight Renewable Energy ( ENLT ) shares rose 3.3% after it said Tuesday it has agreed to buy a stake in German co-located solar and energy storage initiative Project Jupiter with alternative asset manager Prime Capital.
