03:27 PM EST, 02/09/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Energy stocks were higher late Monday afternoon, with the NYSE Energy Sector Index rising 1.3% and the State Street Energy Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLE) up 0.8%.
The Philadelphia Oil Service Sector Index increased 0.8%, and the Dow Jones US Utilities Index was adding 0.4%.
Front-month West Texas Intermediate crude oil rose 1.1% to $64.28 a barrel, and the global benchmark Brent crude contract was advancing 1.3% to $68.96 a barrel. Henry Hub natural gas futures fell 8.7% to $3.13 per 1 million BTU.
In corporate news, Constellation Energy ( CEG ) shares climbed 4.2% after it said Monday that its Calpine unit has signed a 380-megawatt agreement with data center developer and operator CyrusOne to connect and serve a data center in Freestone County, Texas.
