09:12 AM EDT, 03/13/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Energy stocks were leaning lower premarket Friday, with the State Street Energy Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLE) slightly declining.

The United States Oil Fund (USO) was 2.3% lower and the United States Natural Gas Fund (UNG) was down 1.8%.

Front-month US West Texas Intermediate crude oil was down 1.7% at $94.09 per barrel at the New York Mercantile Exchange. Global benchmark North Sea Brent crude oil lost 1.3% to $99.32 per barrel, and natural gas futures were 1.6% lower at $3.18 per 1 million British Thermal Units.

Petroleo Brasileiro (PBR), or Petrobras, said its board approved joining the economic subsidy program for the commercialization of road diesel in Brazil. Petrobras shares were 0.4% higher pre-bell.
