09:11 AM EDT, 04/02/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Energy stocks were rising pre-bell Thursday, with the State Street Energy Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLE) advancing by 2.5%.
The United States Oil Fund (USO) was 11.5% higher and the United States Natural Gas Fund (UNG) was up 0.4%.
Front-month US West Texas Intermediate crude oil was 12.6% higher at $112.53 per barrel at the New York Mercantile Exchange. Global benchmark North Sea Brent crude oil rose 7.6% to $108.80 per barrel, and natural gas futures were up 1.1% at $2.85 per 1 million British Thermal Units.
TotalEnergies (TTE) stock was up more than 2% after the company said it agreed to establish a $2.2 billion joint venture with United Arab Emirates-based energy company Masdar to combine their onshore renewable energy activities in nine countries across Asia.
