09:02 AM EDT, 07/21/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Energy stocks were declining premarket Tuesday, with the State Street Energy Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLE) down 0.1%.

The United States Oil Fund (USO) was up 2% and the United States Natural Gas Fund (UNG) was 0.6% higher.

Front-month US West Texas Intermediate crude oil was 2% higher at $84.92 per barrel at the New York Mercantile Exchange. Global benchmark North Sea Brent crude oil rose 1.9% to $90.87 per barrel, and natural gas futures were up 0.1% at $2.86 per 1 million British Thermal Units.

Halliburton ( HAL ) reported flat Q2 adjusted earnings year on year, while revenue increased. Shares of Halliburton ( HAL ) were down more than 3% pre-bell.
