09:18 AM EDT, 06/06/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Energy stocks were advancing pre-bell Friday with the Energy Select Sector SPDR Fund ( XLE ) recently up 0.6%.
The United States Oil Fund ( USO ) was up 0.5% and the United States Natural Gas Fund (UNG) was 0.4% higher.
Front-month US West Texas Intermediate crude oil was up 0.5% at $63.67 per barrel at the New York Mercantile Exchange. Global benchmark North Sea Brent crude oil gained 0.4% to $65.60 per barrel, and natural gas futures were 0.6% higher at $3.70 per 1 million British Thermal Units.
Petrobras (PBR) is targeting Africa as its main development region outside Brazil, Reuters reported, citing Chief Executive Magda Chambriard. Petrobras shares were 0.1% higher premarket.
Constellation Energy ( CEG ) shares were up nearly 1% after the company said it received approval from the Public Utility Commission of Texas for its acquisition of Calpine.
