Sector Update: Energy Stocks Advance Premarket Tuesday

09:21 AM EST, 12/03/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Energy stocks were advancing premarket Tuesday with the Energy Select Sector SPDR Fund ( XLE ) 0.6% higher recently.

The United States Oil Fund ( USO ) was up 1.7% and the United States Natural Gas Fund ( UNG ) was 2.5% lower.

Front-month US West Texas Intermediate crude oil was 1.6% higher at $69.20 per barrel at the New York Mercantile Exchange. Global benchmark North Sea Brent crude oil gained 1.5% to $72.92 per barrel, and natural gas futures were down 2.8% at $3.12 per 1 million British Thermal Units.

TotalEnergies (TTE) is close to acquiring VSB Group from private equity firm Partners Group Holding for 2 billion euros ($2.10 billion), Bloomberg reported, citing people familiar with the matter. TotalEnergies shares were up over 1% premarket.

Exxon Mobil ( XOM ) is exploring the sale of its downstream business in Singapore, potentially valued at $1 billion, Bloomberg reported, citing people familiar with the matter. Exxon Mobil ( XOM ) shares were 0.5% higher pre-bell.

Enbridge ( ENB ) shares were up 0.4% after the company said it expects full-year 2025 adjusted earnings per share to be in a range of CA$5.50 to CA$5.90 ($3.92 to $4.20). Enbridge ( ENB ) also said it raised its quarterly dividend by 3% to $0.9425 from $0.915 per share.
