03:46 PM EDT, 07/22/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Energy stocks advanced late Tuesday afternoon, with the NYSE Energy Sector Index rising 1% and the Energy Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLE) adding 0.7%.
The Philadelphia Oil Service Sector Index climbed 2.8%, and the Dow Jones US Utilities Index gained 1%.
Front-month West Texas Intermediate oil fell 1.5% to $66.21 a barrel, and global benchmark Brent shed 0.6% to $68.80 a barrel. Henry Hub natural gas futures declined 2.3% to $3.25 per 1 million BTU.
In corporate news, Fusion Fuel Green ( HTOO ) shares surged 66% after it said Tuesday that its unit, Bright Hydrogen Solutions, has signed a non-binding term sheet for hydrogen projects with a green energy technology provider.
TotalEnergies (TTE) and Emerson's Aspen Technology said Tuesday that they will collaborate to deploy digital technologies for real-time collection of data from TotalEnergies' industrial sites. TotalEnergies shares added 0.8%.
Amplify Energy ( AMPY ) shares jumped over 18% after the company said it has hired TenOaks Energy Advisors to explore potential buyers for its assets in East Texas and Oklahoma.
Exxon Mobil ( XOM ) is in talks with the government of Trinidad and Tobago to explore oil and gas in up to seven deepwater blocks off the country's east coast, Reuters reported. Exxon shares added 0.4%.
