09:29 AM EDT, 07/11/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Energy stocks were declining premarket Friday with the Energy Select Sector SPDR Fund ( XLE ) 0.3% lower recently.
The United States Oil Fund ( USO ) was 0.9% higher and the United States Natural Gas Fund ( UNG ) was up 1.6%.
Front-month US West Texas Intermediate crude oil was 1.5% higher at $67.56 per barrel at the New York Mercantile Exchange. Global benchmark North Sea Brent crude oil gained 1.4% to $69.60 per barrel. Natural gas futures were 0.5% higher at $3.383 per 1 million British Thermal Units.
New Fortress Energy's ( NFE ) proposed $20 billion natural gas deal has been blocked by Puerto Rico's Financial Oversight and Management Board, which warned it would give the company near-total control of the island's energy supply, Bloomberg reported. Shares of New Fortress Energy ( NFE ) were down more than 1% pre-bell.
Vista Energy (VIST) shares were down more than 3% after the company reported lower fiscal Q2 adjusted earnings.
