09:28 AM EDT, 06/24/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Energy stocks were edging higher pre-bell Monday as the Energy Select Sector SPDR Fund ( XLE ) was up 0.2% recently.
The United States Oil Fund ( USO ) was 0.3% lower and the United States Natural Gas Fund ( UNG ) was up 0.3%.
Front-month US West Texas Intermediate crude oil was down 0.2% at $80.57 per barrel at the New York Mercantile Exchange. Global benchmark North Sea Brent crude oil lost 0.2% to $85.08 per barrel, and natural gas futures were down 0.5% at $2.69 per 1 million British Thermal Units.
Eni (E) expects to complete the sale of a minority stake in its biofuel unit Enilive by the end of 2024, Reuters reported. Eni was down more than 1% premarket.
NexGen Energy ( NXE ) said the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission has completed a 30-day review of its latest submission regarding the environmental impact statement for the company's proposed Rook One uranium mining project. NexGen Energy ( NXE ) was flat pre-bell.
