09:27 AM EDT, 08/28/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Energy stocks were edging higher premarket Thursday, with the Energy Select Sector SPDR Fund ( XLE ) up 0.1%.
The United States Oil Fund ( USO ) was 0.2% higher and the United States Natural Gas Fund ( UNG ) was up 0.9%.
Front-month US West Texas Intermediate crude oil was 0.2% lower at $64.03 per barrel at the New York Mercantile Exchange. Global benchmark North Sea Brent crude oil lost 0.2% to $67.29 per barrel, and natural gas futures was flat at $2.89 per 1 million British Thermal Units.
Oceaneering International ( OII ) shares were up more than 2% after the company said its Marine Production Systems do Brasil unit won about $180 million of subsea robotics contracts from Petroleo Brasileiro (PBR) or Petrobras in Q2.
CMB.TECH ( CMBT ) stock was up more than 3% after the company reported an increase in Q2 revenue.
Prairie Operating ( PROP ) shares were 2.4% higher after the company said it completed two bolt-on acquisitions, adding about 16,000 net acres and significant new inventory, including permitted locations.
