01:49 PM EDT, 06/10/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Energy stocks were higher Tuesday afternoon, with the NYSE Energy Sector Index rising 2% and the Energy Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLE) up about 2.1%.
The Philadelphia Oil Service Sector index climbed 3.6%, and the Dow Jones US Utilities index was 0.2% higher.
Front-month West Texas Intermediate crude oil was down 0.2% at $65.15 a barrel, and the global benchmark Brent crude contract was flat at $67.03 a barrel. Henry Hub natural gas futures were 3.1% lower at $3.52 per 1 million BTU.
In corporate news, Marathon Petroleum ( MPC ) shares popped 2.1% after TD Cowen raised its price target to $163 from $152.
Avista ( AVA ) shares were rising 1.4% after the company said late Monday that it and Walmart (WMT), Clearwater Paper (CLW), Idaho Forest Group and Idaho Public Utilities Commission have reached a settlement agreement with regard to electric and natural gas general rate cases.
Oklo ( OKLO ) said Tuesday that the US Nuclear Regulatory Commission has started its review of the company's licensed operator topical report. Oklo ( OKLO ) shares were down more than 5%.
