09:27 AM EDT, 03/11/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Energy stocks were leaning lower pre-bell Wednesday, with the State Street Energy Select Sector SPDR ETF ( XLE ) declining by 0.2%.
The United States Oil Fund ( USO ) was 0.9% lower and the United States Natural Gas Fund ( UNG ) was up 2%.
Front-month US West Texas Intermediate crude oil was up 3% at $85.96 per barrel at the New York Mercantile Exchange. Global benchmark North Sea Brent crude oil gained 3.3% to $90.67 per barrel. Natural gas futures were 3% higher at $3.097 per 1 million British Thermal Units.
Diamondback Energy ( FANG ) shares were down nearly 3% after the company said a secondary offering of 11 million of its common shares by SGF FANG has been priced and will generate about $1.9 billion in gross proceeds.
Kosmos Energy ( KOS ) shares were down more than 18% after the company priced an underwritten public offering of 97.5 million of its common shares at $1.90 per share for gross proceeds of about $185.3 million.
Shell (SHEL) and TotalEnergies (TTE) have declared force majeure to customers they supply with liquefied natural gas from Qatar, Reuters reported, citing unnamed sources. Shell shares were 0.8% higher, while TotalEnergies stock was down 0.1% premarket.
