09:28 AM EDT, 06/17/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Energy stocks were leaning lower premarket Monday with the Energy Select Sector SPDR Fund ( XLE ) down 0.2% recently.
The United States Oil Fund ( USO ) was 0.7% higher and the United States Natural Gas Fund ( UNG ) was down nearly 3%.
Front-month US West Texas Intermediate crude oil was up 0.7% at $78.58 per barrel at the New York Mercantile Exchange. Global benchmark North Sea Brent crude oil gained 0.5% to $83.07 per barrel. Natural gas futures were down 2.2% at $2.818 per 1 million British Thermal Units.
New Fortress Energy ( NFE ) was up over 2% after it said Friday it expects the first LNG from its unit in Altamira, Mexico, within the next 10 days, while the delivery of First Cargo is expected in July.
Petrobras (PBR) said Chief Executive Officer Magda Chambriard appointed Fernando Melgarejo as chief financial officer. Petrobras was 1% lower pre-bell.
