The United States Oil Fund ( USO ) was down 0.8% and the United States Natural Gas Fund ( UNG ) was 1% lower.
Front-month US West Texas Intermediate crude oil was up 0.3% at $68.38 per barrel at the New York Mercantile Exchange. Global benchmark North Sea Brent crude oil lost 0.4% to $71.72 per barrel, and natural gas futures were down 0.3% at $2.89 per 1 million British Thermal Units.
Devon Energy ( DVN ) shares were down 0.2% after the company said late Friday it has closed its $5 billion acquisition of Grayson Mill Energy, adding a high-margin oil and natural gas producer to Devon's US operations.
Duke Energy ( DUK ) said it is continuing to restore power to Florida customers following outages due to Hurricane Helene. Duke Energy ( DUK ) shares were 0.3% lower premarket.
