09:26 AM EDT, 07/15/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Energy stocks were leaning lower premarket Tuesday with the Energy Select Sector SPDR Fund ( XLE ) down 0.2% recently.
The United States Oil Fund ( USO ) was 0.2% lower and the United States Natural Gas Fund ( UNG ) was up 1.2%.
Front-month US West Texas Intermediate crude oil was 0.1% lower at $66.93 per barrel at the New York Mercantile Exchange. Global benchmark North Sea Brent crude oil was up 0.1% to $69.26 per barrel. Natural gas futures were 0.3% higher at $3.512 per 1 million British Thermal Units.
ConocoPhillips ( COP ) has filed applications with federal regulators seeking to drill four new test wells and undertake seismic studies near its roughly $7.5 billion Willow project in Alaska, Bloomberg reported. Shares of ConocoPhillips ( COP ) were 0.4% higher pre-bell.
ProPetro ( PUMP ) said it appointed Caleb Weatherl as chief financial officer, starting immediately. ProPetro ( PUMP ) shares were up nearly 4% premarket.
