09:21 AM EDT, 05/21/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Energy stocks leaned lower premarket Wednesday with the Energy Select Sector SPDR Fund ( XLE ) 0.3% lower recently.
The United States Oil Fund ( USO ) was up 0.7% and the United States Natural Gas Fund ( UNG ) was 0.4% higher.
Front-month US West Texas Intermediate crude oil was up 1.1% at $62.74 per barrel at the New York Mercantile Exchange. Global benchmark North Sea Brent crude oil gained 1% to $66.02 per barrel, and natural gas futures were 0.8% lower at $3.40 per 1 million British Thermal Units.
Flex LNG ( FLNG ) shares were down 1% after the company reported lower Q1 adjusted earnings and vessel operating revenue.
Ecopetrol ( EC ) shares were 0.6% higher after the company said it executed an asset purchase agreement with Statkraft European Wind and Solar for the potential acquisition of its Colombia portfolio of up to 1.3 gigawatts in energy projects.
CMB.TECH ( CMBT ) shares were up over 1% even after the company reported lower Q1 earnings and total shipping income.
