Sector Update: Energy Stocks Lower in Pre-Bell Activity Friday

09:19 AM EDT, 06/14/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Energy stocks were lower in pre-bell activity Friday as the Energy Select Sector SPDR Fund ( XLE ) was recently down 0.2%.

The United States Oil Fund ( USO ) was 1.2% higher and the United States Natural Gas Fund ( UNG ) was up 0.3%.

Front-month US West Texas Intermediate crude oil was up 0.5% at $79.01 per barrel at the New York Mercantile Exchange. Global benchmark North Sea Brent crude oil gained 0.7% to $83.29 per barrel, and natural gas futures were down 1.1% at $2.93 per 1 million British Thermal Units.

TotalEnergies (TTE) fell by over 2% after saying it has agreed to sell its subsidiary in Brunei to Malaysian firm Hibiscus Petroleum Berhad for $259 million.

Phillips 66 (PSX) said it has agreed to sell its 25% non-operated common equity interest in Rockies Express Pipeline to a Tallgrass Energy (TGE) subsidiary for about $1.23 billion. Phillips 66 was down 0.3% premarket.

Enservco ( ENSV ) said it has provided an updated plan to regain compliance with the NYSE American listing requirements that includes operational changes, securing debt and credit to increase shareholders' equity. Enservco ( ENSV ) was over 7% lower pre-bell.
