09:24 AM EDT, 05/07/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Energy stocks rose premarket Wednesday with the Energy Select Sector SPDR Fund ( XLE ) advancing by 0.3% recently.
The United States Oil Fund ( USO ) was down 0.2% and the United States Natural Gas Fund ( UNG ) was 3.8% higher.
Front-month US West Texas Intermediate crude oil was up 0.1% at $59.15 per barrel at the New York Mercantile Exchange. Global benchmark North Sea Brent crude oil gained 0.1% to $62.19 per barrel, and natural gas futures were 5.2% higher at $3.65 per 1 million British Thermal Units.
MPLX ( MPLX ) , Enbridge ( ENB ) , and I Squared said they agreed to acquire equity interests in the Matterhorn Express Pipeline from Ridgemont Equity Partners and Devon Energy ( DVN ) . Shares of MPLX ( MPLX ) were up over 1% pre-bell.
Suncor Energy ( SU ) shares were up over 1% after the company reported lower Q1 adjusted earnings that still topped analysts' expectations.
Ecopetrol ( EC ) shares advanced by over 1% after the company reported higher Q1 revenue.
