09:15 AM EST, 01/06/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Energy stocks rose premarket Monday as the Energy Select Sector SPDR Fund ( XLE ) recently advanced by 0.6%.
The United States Oil Fund ( USO ) was up 0.7% and the United States Natural Gas Fund ( UNG ) was 10.3% higher.
Front-month US West Texas Intermediate crude oil was 0.6% higher at $74.40 per barrel at the New York Mercantile Exchange. Global benchmark North Sea Brent crude oil gained 0.6% to $76.97 per barrel. Natural gas futures were up 5.5% at $3.112 per 1 million British Thermal Units.
DHT Holdings ( DHT ) shares were up almost 1% after the company said it has bought about 1.5 million of its shares at an average price of about $8.89 per share in December.
Talos Energy ( TALO ) said Joseph Mills has resigned as interim president and CEO to pursue other opportunities. Talos Energy ( TALO ) shares were 0.2% higher premarket.
