09:13 AM EDT, 08/13/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Energy stocks were rising premarket Wednesday, with the Energy Select Sector SPDR Fund ( XLE ) 0.2% higher.
The United States Oil Fund ( USO ) was 0.1% lower and the United States Natural Gas Fund ( UNG ) was up 1.9%.
Front-month US West Texas Intermediate crude oil was down 0.2% at $63.03 per barrel at the New York Mercantile Exchange. Global benchmark North Sea Brent crude oil fell 0.2% to $66.02 per barrel. Natural gas futures were up 0.3% at $2.816 per 1 million British Thermal Units.
Venture Global ( VG ) shares were nearly 13% higher after the company said it won a legal battle against Shell (SHEL) related to liquefied natural gas sales from its Calcasieu project in Louisiana.
Ecopetrol ( EC ) shares were up 0.1% after the company reported lower Q2 net income and revenue.
Halliburton ( HAL ) stock was up 0.8% after the company said it has secured a five-year contract from ConocoPhillips's ( COP ) unit ConocoPhillip Skandinavia AS to provide well stimulation services in the North Sea.
