02:07 PM EST, 11/18/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Energy stocks were higher Tuesday afternoon, with the NYSE Energy Sector Index rising up 0.7% and the Energy Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLE) adding 0.8%.
The Philadelphia Oil Service Sector Index was climbing 0.6%, and the Dow Jones US Utilities Index was increasing 0.5%.
Front-month West Texas Intermediate crude oil was rising 1.4% to $60.72 a barrel, and the global benchmark Brent crude contract was advancing 1% to $64.89 a barrel. Henry Hub natural gas futures were 0.2% higher to $4.37 per 1 million BTU.
In corporate news, Exxon Mobil's ( XOM ) Golden Pass LNG joint venture with QatarEnergy is aiming for February to load its first liquefied natural gas cargo, Bloomberg reported. Exxon shares rose 1.4%.
New Fortress Energy ( NFE ) shares rose 2% after the firm said it has signed a forbearance agreement with holders of its senior secured notes due 2029 that extends the interest payment date.
Shell Energy Europe, a Shell (SHEL) unit, has signed a five-year power purchase agreement with Northland Power for about one-third of the production from Northland's 332 megawatt Nordsee One offshore wind farm, Northland said. Shell eased 0.2%.
