08:58 AM EDT, 04/17/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Financial stocks were advancing pre-bell Wednesday as the Financial Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLF) was 0.2% higher recently.

The Direxion Daily Financial Bull 3X Shares (FAS) was up 0.7% and its bearish counterpart Direxion Daily Financial Bear 3X Shares (FAZ) was 0.7% lower.

U.S. Bancorp ( USB ) was down almost 4% after it reported lower Q1 earnings and revenue.
