03:32 PM EDT, 06/18/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Financial stocks were advancing in late Tuesday afternoon trading, with the NYSE Financial Index and the Financial Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLF) each adding 0.3%.

The Philadelphia Housing Index was falling 1.6%, and the Real Estate Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLRE) was up 0.3%.

Bitcoin (BTC-USD) fell 3.4% to $64,570, and the yield for 10-year US Treasuries dropped 5.8 basis points to 4.22%.

In economic news, US retail sales rose 0.1% in May versus the 0.3% increase anticipated in a survey compiled by Bloomberg and a 0.2% decline in April.

US industrial production advanced 0.9% in May, compared with expectations for a 0.3% increase in a survey compiled by Bloomberg and an unrevised flat reading in April.

Redbook US same-store sales rose 5.9% from a year earlier in the week ended June 15 after a 5.5% year-over-year increase in the previous week.

In corporate news, La Rosa (LRHC) shares surged nearly 42% after it said Tuesday it plans to acquire a controlling stake in Nona Title Agency, which operates under the name Red Door Title.
