The Philadelphia Housing Index and the Real Estate Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLRE) both shed 0.8%.
Bitcoin (BTC-USD) dropped 0.9% to $59,242, and the yield for 10-year US Treasuries declined 3 basis points to 3.90%.
In economic news, consumer expectations for one year of US inflation growth were unchanged in July, compared with a 3% gain in June, according to a survey released by the New York Federal Reserve Bank.
In corporate news, Janus Henderson ( JHG ) shares rose 0.8%. The company agreed to acquire a majority stake in Victory Park Capital Advisors and its affiliate platform, Triumph Capital Markets.
