03:27 PM EDT, 08/28/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Financial stocks were mixed in late Wednesday afternoon trading with the NYSE Financial Index easing 0.2% and the Financial Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLF) little changed.

The Philadelphia Housing Index fell 0.4%, and the Real Estate Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLRE) shed 0.5%.

Bitcoin (BTC-USD) declined 0.3% to $59,303, and the yield for 10-year US Treasuries was little changed at 3.84%.

In corporate news, Carter Bankshares ( CARE ) said a lawsuit filed by GLAS Trust in February was dismissed after the sides reached a settlement. Carter shares rose 0.9%.
