The Philadelphia Housing Index rose 0.3%, and the Real Estate Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLRE) declined 1.6%.
Bitcoin (BTC-USD) fell 1.7% to $104,445, and the yield for 10-year US Treasuries rose 1.8 basis points to 4.60%.
In economic news, the Conference Board's measure of leading indicators fell 0.1% in December, as expected in a survey compiled by Bloomberg.
In corporate news, Goldman Sachs ( GS ) and JPMorgan ( JPM ) are under pressure from activist groups to abandon or trim their diversity, equity and inclusion practices, The Wall Street Journal reported. Goldman shares fell 0.2%, and JPMorgan ( JPM ) was little changed.
