03:32 PM EST, 03/03/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Financial stocks fell in late Monday afternoon trading with the NYSE Financial Index down 0.9% and the Financial Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLF) dropping 1.4%.
The Philadelphia Housing Index slipped 1.6%, while the Real Estate Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLRE) rose 0.3%.
Bitcoin (BTC-USD) slumped 8.7% to $86,166, and the yield for 10-year US Treasuries dropped 5.1 basis points to 4.18%.
In economic news, the Institute for Supply Management's US manufacturing index fell to 50.3 in February from 50.9 in January, compared with expectations for 50.8 in a survey compiled by Bloomberg.
In corporate news, Blackstone (BX) subsidiary Blackstone Europe and Sixth Street Partners said an all-cash proposal by certain of their managed funds to buy Warehouse REIT for 470 million pounds ($596.5 million) was rejected. Blackstone shares fell 2.3%.
