03:24 PM EDT, 05/13/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Financial stocks were advancing in late Tuesday afternoon trading, with the NYSE Financial Index rising 0.6% and the Financial Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLF) ahead 0.8%.

The Philadelphia Housing Index was up 0.3%, while the Real Estate Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLRE) was shedding 1.1%.

Bitcoin (BTC-USD) was increasing 2.4% to $104,355, and the yield for 10-year US Treasuries rose 4 basis points to nearly 4.5%.

In economic news, the US seasonally adjusted consumer price index rebounded by 0.2% in April after a 0.1% decline in March, below expectations for a 0.3% increase in a survey compiled by Bloomberg. Core CPI, which excludes food and energy prices, also rose by 0.2%, below the consensus estimate for a 0.3% gain.

In corporate news, Goldman Sachs ( GS ) held talks with regulators about a launch of its Marcus retail bank in Ireland, Bloomberg reported. Goldman shares rose 2.7%.
