01:11 PM EDT, 08/27/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Financial stocks advanced in Wednesday afternoon trading with the NYSE Financial Index rising 0.2% and the Financial Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLF) climbing 0.3%.

The Philadelphia Housing Index fell 0.2%, and the Real Estate Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLRE) gained 0.4%.

Bitcoin (BTC-USD) rose 0.2% to $112,013, and the yield for 10-year US Treasuries was little changed at 4.25%.

In corporate news, Aspen Insurance ( AHL ) agreed to be acquired by Japan's Sompo Holdings for $3.5 billion in cash, or $37.50 a share. Aspen stock jumped 13%.
