01:02 PM EDT, 09/08/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Financial stocks were mixed in Monday afternoon trading, with the NYSE Financial Index down 0.1% and the Financial Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLF) fractionally higher.

The Philadelphia Housing Index was adding 0.2%, and the Real Estate Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLRE) was falling 1%.

Bitcoin (BTC-USD) was increasing 1.2% to $112,456, and the yield of 10-year US Treasuries was shedding 2 basis points to 4.06%.

In corporate news, PNC Financial Services ( PNC ) said Monday it has agreed to buy FirstBank in a deal valued at $4.10 billion. PNC shares were down 0.8%.
