09:01 AM EDT, 09/12/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Financial stocks were declining pre-bell Friday, with the Financial Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLF) down 0.2%.

The Direxion Daily Financial Bull 3X Shares (FAS) was 0.7% lower and its bearish counterpart Direxion Daily Financial Bear 3X Shares (FAZ) was up 0.9%.

Banco Sabadell said its board unanimously recommended that its shareholders reject Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria's ( BBVA ) hostile takeover bid as it "significantly undervalues" the company. BBVA shares were down more than 1% premarket.
