The Direxion Daily Financial Bull 3X Shares (FAS) was down 0.7% and its bearish counterpart Direxion Daily Financial Bear 3X Shares (FAZ) was 1.3% higher.

Sumitomo Mitsui Financial Group ( SMFG ) shares were up more than 4% after the company reported higher fiscal H1 earnings and increased its fiscal 2026 earnings outlook.
