03:28 PM EST, 12/15/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Financial stocks were advancing in late Monday afternoon trading, with the NYSE Financial Index increasing 0.4% and the State Street Financial Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLF) fractionally higher.
The Philadelphia Housing Index was slightly lower, and the State Street Real Estate Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLRE) was up 0.2%.
Bitcoin (BTC-USD) was falling 2.8% to $85,729, and the yield for 10-year US Treasuries decreased 1 basis point to 4.18%.
In corporate news, JPMorgan Chase ( JPM ) financed a $7.4 billion deal to help Korea Zinc build a smelter in Tennessee, The Wall Street Journal reported. The US government and outside investors agreed to provide about $2.2 billion of equity capital for the project, and sources said JPMorgan ( JPM ) and the US government will fund the remainder of the project costs through debt financing, according to the report. JPMorgan ( JPM ) shares were up 0.7%.
