08:59 AM EDT, 05/08/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Financial stocks were rising pre-bell Friday, with the State Street Financial Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLF) advancing by 0.2%.

The Direxion Daily Financial Bull 3X Shares (FAS) was 0.9% higher and its bearish counterpart Direxion Daily Financial Bear 3X Shares (FAZ) was down 0.7%.

Essent Group ( ESNT ) shares were up 1% after the company reported higher Q1 earnings and revenue.
