Sector Update: Financial Stocks Advance Late Afternoon

03:55 PM EDT, 10/30/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Financial stocks gained in late Thursday afternoon trading with the NYSE Financial Index and the Financial Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLF) each rising 0.5%.

The Philadelphia Housing Index was little changed, and the Real Estate Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLRE) added 0.6%.

Bitcoin (BTC-USD) fell 3.3% to $107,083, and the yield for 10-year US Treasuries rose 3.5 basis points to 4.09%.

In corporate news, BlackRock ( BLK ) is among a group of lenders that filed a lawsuit seeking to recover over $500 million from Bankim Brahmbhatt, owner of two telecom services companies, over alleged fraud, the Wall Street Journal reported. BlackRock ( BLK ) shares rose 0.5%.

Mastercard's ( MA ) Q3 results came in stronger than Wall Street's expectations as cross-border volume surged amid resilient consumer and business spending. Its shares were up 0.1%.

LendingTree ( TREE ) shares climbed 7% after it reported higher Q3 adjusted earnings and revenue that also beat analysts' estimates.

First Mid Bancshares ( FMBH ) has agreed to buy Two Rivers Financial Group in an all-stock deal valued at about $94.1 million, the companies said Thursday. First Mid shares declined 3.5%.
