Sector Update: Financial Stocks Advance Pre-Bell Thursday

09:12 AM EDT, 08/28/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Financial stocks were advancing pre-bell Thursday, with the Financial Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLF) up 0.3%.

The Direxion Daily Financial Bull 3X Shares ( FAS ) was 0.8% higher and its bearish counterpart Direxion Daily Financial Bear 3X Shares ( FAZ ) was down 0.5%.

Toronto-Dominion Bank ( MLWIQXX ) shares were up more than 2% after the company reported higher fiscal Q3 adjusted earnings and adjusted revenue.

Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce ( CM ) stock was up more than 4% after the company posted higher fiscal Q3 adjusted earnings and revenue. The bank also said it plans to purchase for cancellation up to 20 million common shares under a normal course issuer bid.

Accelerant Holdings ( ARX ) shares were up more than 3% after the company reported that it swung to Q2 earnings as revenue increased during the period.
