Sector Update: Financial Stocks Decline Premarket Wednesday

09:17 AM EDT, 10/02/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Financial stocks were declining premarket Wednesday with the Financial Select Sector SPDR Fund ( XLF ) 0.4% lower recently.

The Direxion Daily Financial Bull 3X Shares ( FAS ) was down 1% and its bearish counterpart Direxion Daily Financial Bear 3X Shares ( FAZ ) was 1.3% higher.

JPMorgan Chase ( JPM ) is planning to open nearly 100 new branches in low-income areas across the US, including rural towns with dwindling bank presence, The Wall Street Journal reported, citing chief executive officer Jamie Dimon as saying in an interview. JPMorgan Chase ( JPM ) shares were slightly lower pre-bell.

CME Group ( CME ) shares were up 0.5% after the company said its average daily volume last month stood at 28.4 million contracts, up 25% from a year earlier.

Fidelity National Information Services ( FIS ) said it has rolled out online platform Digital Trading Storefront to enhance cross-asset trading for banks, brokers, market makers, and fund managers. Fidelity National Information Services ( FIS ) shares were down 1.5% premarket.
