09:18 AM EDT, 09/08/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Financial stocks were edging higher pre-bell Monday, with The Financial Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLF) marginally advancing.

The Direxion Daily Financial Bull 3X Shares ( FAS ) was 0.3% higher and its bearish counterpart Direxion Daily Financial Bear 3X Shares ( FAZ ) was inactive.

Robinhood Markets ( HOOD ) is set to replace Caesars Entertainment ( CZR ) in the S&P 500, effective Sept. 22, S&P Dow Jones Indices said. Shares of Robinhood Markets ( HOOD ) were up more than 8% premarket.

Apollo Global Management ( APO ) said funds managed by the company have agreed to commit 3.20 billion euros ($3.75 billion) of equity to a new joint venture with German power producer RWE. Apollo Global Management ( APO ) stock was 0.4% higher pre-bell.

The PNC Financial Services Group ( PNC ) shares were up 0.1% after the company said it has agreed to buy FirstBank Holding in a deal valued at $4.10 billion.
