03:54 PM EDT, 10/07/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Financial stocks were declining in late Monday afternoon trading, with the NYSE Financial Index and the Financial Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLF) each falling about 1.2%.
The Philadelphia Housing Index eased 0.1%, and the Real Estate Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLRE) was retreating 0.8%.
Bitcoin (BTC-USD) was increasing 0.8% to $63,126, and the yield for 10-year US Treasuries was rising 5 basis points to 4.03%.
In corporate news, Goldman Sachs ( GS ) and JPMorgan Chase ( JPM ) have been tapped by German auto parts manufacturer Continental to get part of its business ready for a spinoff, Bloomberg reported. Goldman and JPMorgan ( JPM ) each shed about 0.2%.
Prospect Capital ( PSEC ) shares fell 0.9%. The company said it increased commitments for its revolving credit facility to $2.12 billion for its Prospect Capital Funding unit during the quarter ended Sept. 30.
Blue Owl Capital (OWL) said that it agreed to buy the business of digital infrastructure fund manager IPI Partner for about $1.0 billion. Blue Owl shares were down 0.5%.
Territorial Bancorp ( TBNK ) said it's urging investors to reject a proposed takeover proposal from Blue Hill Advisors and instead support its proposed merger with Hope Bancorp ( HOPE ) , describing Blue Hill's non-binding express of interest as "illusory." Territorial shares tumbled 7.2%, and Hope was down 1.4%.
