Sector Update: Financial Stocks Fall Wednesday Afternoon

02:00 PM EST, 02/11/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Financial stocks were lower in Wednesday afternoon trading, with the NYSE Financial Index shedding 0.9% and the State Street Financial Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLF) falling 1.5%.

The Philadelphia Housing Index was down 0.8%, and the State Street Real Estate Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLRE) was up 0.2%.

Bitcoin (BTC-USD) was falling 2.6% to $67,078, and the yield for 10-year US Treasuries rose 2.7 basis points to 4.17%.

In economic news, total nonfarm payrolls rose by 130,000 in January, the Bureau of Labor Statistics said, double the 65,000 gain expected in a Bloomberg poll. December was revised lower by 2,000 to 48,000, while November was adjusted downward by 15,000 to 41,000, the BLS said. The unemployment rate fell to 4.3%, while the market expected it to hold steady at December's 4.4% print.

In corporate news, Robinhood (HOOD) shares fell past 10% after it reported a decline in Q4 net income while sales missed market expectations.

Coinbase (COIN) shares fell over 7% after HC Wainwright cut its price target to $350 from $425 while keeping its buy rating.

Sound Point Meridian Capital ( SPMC ) shares dropped 10% after the company reported a fiscal Q3 net loss.
