Sector Update: Financial Stocks Lean Lower Pre-Bell Wednesday

09:28 AM EDT, 10/30/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Financial stocks were leaning lower pre-bell Wednesday as the Financial Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLF) slightly fell by 0.1%.

The Direxion Daily Financial Bull 3X Shares ( FAS ) was down 0.2% and its bearish counterpart Direxion Daily Financial Bear 3X Shares ( FAZ ) was 0.4% higher.

Tradeweb Markets ( TW ) shares were down more than 1% even after the company reported higher Q3 adjusted earnings and revenue.

Global Payments ( GPN ) shares were down almost 3% after the company reported Q3 adjusted earnings of $3.08 per diluted share, up from $2.75 a year earlier but missing the $3.10 estimate from analysts polled by Capital IQ.

Bank of America ( BAC ) said in a filing that it is in talks with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau over a potential resolution or enforcement action on the watchdog's inquiry into the company's electronic payments processing through the Zelle network. Bank of America ( BAC ) shares were 2% lower pre-bell.
