The Direxion Daily Financial Bull 3X Shares ( FAS ) was marginally lower and its bearish counterpart Direxion Daily Financial Bear 3X Shares ( FAZ ) was up 0.2%.

Invesco ( IVZ ) shares were up more than 1% after the company reported preliminary assets under management of about $2.064 trillion at the end of August, up 1.9% from July.

Burford Capital ( BUR ) stock was 0.8% higher after the company said it acquired a strategic minority stake in Kindleworth.

Blackstone (BX) and Permira are investing to acquire a "meaningful" minority stake in Middle East and North Africa property portal Property Finder. Shares of Blackstone were up 0.2% pre-bell.
