03:36 PM EDT, 08/05/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Health care stocks fell late Monday afternoon with the NYSE Health Care Index and the Health Care Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLV) both dropping 2.8%.

The iShares Biotechnology ETF (IBB) fell 2.8%.

In corporate news, BioNTech (BNTX) reported a wider-than-expected loss in Q2 as global sales of the German drugmaker's COVID-19 vaccine fell amid weak demand. The stock slumped 3.9%.
