03:43 PM EDT, 09/27/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Health care stocks were mixed late Friday afternoon with the NYSE Health Care Index falling 0.1% and the Health Care Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLV) adding 0.1%.

The iShares Biotechnology ETF (IBB) rose 0.5%.

In corporate news, Seelos Therapeutics ( SEEL ) shares tumbled nearly 21%. The company said late Thursday that its 2024 annual meeting of stockholders scheduled for Friday has been postponed due to an "anticipated lack of quorum, and to provide further time to solicit proxies from the company's stockholders."
