01:38 PM EDT, 09/26/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Health care stocks were mixed Thursday afternoon, with the NYSE Health Care Index shedding 0.2% and the Health Care Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLV) up 0.1%.

The iShares Biotechnology ETF (IBB) rose 0.7%.

In corporate news, Scilex ( SCLX ) shares were up past 7% after it said Thursday the lockup period that prevents the transfer of its stock previously distributed as a dividend to Sorrento Therapeutics stockholders has been extended by a bankruptcy court until Jan. 31 next year.
